Well the British, of course! Today’s first day celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has kept some of us (well, maybe just me!) glued to the screen to see all the happenings around the country. The trooping of the color is one of the finest examples of British pageantry, and today they certainly outdid themselves to honor the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
She’s outdone Queen Victoria, the longest reigning monarch of the 20th century (she died in 1901), by 6 years. Certainly history was made this week. And, there are a few more days of celebration to come, with fireworks over Windsor castle, a church service of thanksgiving and more. Stay tuned – I will!
