If you had all the time and money in the world, what would be your travel agenda? But lets not forget to include the word “pandemic”. Because the entire world was turned upside down in early 2020 and it became no longer a matter of not having enough time, or enough money, but “being allowed” to go somewhere.
Spoiler alert: This post is not about the politics of wearing a mask…or not, or going to a restaurant…or not. I’m weary of those conversations. (We’re following the medical advice, and observing other countries who followed medical advice, and doing what they recommend).
As of right now, Floridians are not allowed into certain states because of our rising COVID19 numbers. Also, I am not allowed to fly into Great Britain, Or even arrive by cruise ship, private yacht or inflatable dinghy.
I never imagined the day would come where I had the time (business in the hotel industry has been horribly slow), and the money (a flight to London today is the cost of a car payment) but COVID19 says “Oh, I don’t think so”. The shock and nerve of it all!
Back to the original question…If I had the time and the money, Take Me Back to Europe…or at least Out Of The Country as I like to Travel For Culture.
Thom has an unhealthy obsession with trains (he even has a little happy dance he does when he’s going on a train!) and he’d vote for Take Me Back, Take a Plane, then Take a Train and Just Relax, Out In Nature. Most of his train rides have been through some of the most spectacular countryside, so it’s easy to see why he’d want that. Being British, I’ve traveled on enough trains to last a lifetime, I”m much happier to fly to my chosen destinations. Plus, in Europe, it’s cheaper and faster.
