As a former business traveler (a lifetime ago!), I know from first hand experience those chain hotels can get a bit dull, and the changing receptionist faces at the front desk never really helped make me feel connected.
We make sure to give this lovely guest his favorite room, we’re familiar with his work schedule, and watch out for him when he doesn’t come “home” at his regular time (many have appreciated this when traveling solo), and generally take good care of him when he’s under our roof.
We’ve solved many of the problems of the world while he’s getting his breakfast, after he’s taken a jog on the route we recommended. We love getting to know our guests, and they love having a familiar face and place at the end of their work day, it just makes the time away from home a bit less lonesome, a lot more comfortable.
